Fugitive for 15 years, captured at Treviso airport

The Border Police captured him at Treviso airport an Italian wanted for over 15 years. In the investigative analysis of the flows of passengers in transit at the Canova airport, in fact, the staff of the Border Police of Treviso identified in this last weekend a compatriot arriving from Spain on a low-cost flight who had been wanted by justice for several of 15 years because he was responsible for the crimes of robbery, injuries, receiving stolen goods, violation of the rules for carrying and possessing weaponsrecipient of an executive detention order issued by the Judicial Authority to serve a prison sentence of 2 years and 8 months of imprisonment.

The fugitive hoped to return to the national territory after many years of being on the run abroad, without being checked by the Police Force, taking advantage of the fact that there is free movement at the border between Spain and Italy as per the Schengen Treaty.

The control device implemented by the Border Police made it possible to “filter” arriving and departing passengers identify among approximately 200 of themi, the wanted man who was about to return to Italy. Once the formalities were completed, the wanted man was taken to prison in Treviso.
