FOLIGNO – To the Tour of Italy It’s stopwatch time. 40.6 km between Foligno and Perugiawhich for the first time welcomes the arrival of a stopwatch. Very complicated test with 34 flat km and the remaining 6 with an average gradient of 4.2% with peaks of 16% on the first ramps.

Once you get off the starting platform in Foligno and after a long straight stretch, at 5 km you will encounter a stretch with several curves and turns entering and exiting Spello. Then again winding roads until reaching Santa Maria degli Angeli, located 18.6 km after the start. Another 15 flat km until the second intermediate, in Ponte Valleceppi, which will be reached at the 34th km. Shortly after, there will be the possibility to change bikes before taking the final climb towards the center of Perugia, 6.6 km long and with an average gradient of 4.2%. The most challenging stretch will be found in the first 1300 meters up to Casaglia, all in double figures (average of 11.8%, with a peak of 16%). The finish is simpler, with uphill stretches alternating with short slight slopes. The last km of the city is almost always slightly uphill until the arrival of Corso Vannucci.
