ANCONA – The tour of the national party leaders begins, in view of the electoral round for the European and administrative elections on 8 and 9 June. Already today, coinciding with the first day of official presentation of candidacies for the municipal elections, the national secretary of the Democratic Party Elly Schlein arrives in the Marche region. She is expected in Osimo around 1pm, for a lunch at the Caffè del Corso, with the centre-left mayoral candidate Michela Glorio, followed by a closed-door meeting on healthcare. At 5pm he will be in Urbino (in support of Federico Scaramucci) and at 7pm in Piazzale Collenuccio in Pesaro, where the centre-left runs with Andrea Biancani. The secretary of the democrats arrives in the Marche to support the candidates for mayor and will also meet the candidates of the Democratic Party at the European elections.

The chatter of the day before excludes that Schlein could in some way deal, in this tour of the Marche, with the issue that has been agitating the democrat camp for some time now, with the regional secretary Chantal Bomprezzi who since the end of March has asked for the resignation of the PD group leader in Regional Council Maurizio Mangialardi. A question which at the moment, precisely in order not to disturb the electoral campaign, seems frozen but not closed.

The budget

Next Monday the Democratic Party of the Marche will make a public assessment of one year of secretariat and address the prospects for 2025, when we will vote for the Regional elections. There was no mention of the Mangialardi affair in the press call at the Ancona headquarters in Piazza Stamira. «We will take stock of the first year of secretary Bomprezzi’s mandate, reporting on the activities carried out and outlining future prospects. In particular, we will focus on the challenges and opportunities that await us in the next year and a half, with the European, local and regional elections scheduled.” Not just Schlein. Tomorrow the national secretary Nicola Fratoianni will open the electoral campaign of Sinistra Italiana Marche, touching four provinces. The electoral tour will start from Ancona at 10.30, with a press conference at the Bar Muda, inside the Galleria Dorica, which will also be attended by Agnese Santarelli, Marche candidate for the Central Italy constituency, Giuseppe Buondonno, from the National Secretariat of SI, and Gioia Santarelli, regional secretary of the party. Fratoianni will then be in Pesaro where, at 1pm in the city council hall, he will meet the mayoral candidate Andrea Biancani. The national secretary of the Italian Left will then stop in Macerata where, at 5pm in Piazza Mazzini, he will hold a rally together with Agnese Santarelli. The Marche tour will end in San Benedetto del Tronto with a rally at 7pm in Viale Moretti (pedestrian area).
