Fiscatech workers against the transfer, a truck blocked

VIGEVANO (PV) – Climate of strong tension at Fiscatech of Vigevanowhere the 57 employees strongly oppose the company’s move to Cormons, in Friuli. Yesterday, to prevent the loading of machinery onto a truck headed for Friuli, workers guarded the company gate from 1pm to 4pm. Despite the failure of the truck to arrive, the workers’ mobilization shows no signs of slowing down. Determined to cause inconvenience to the property, they decided to organize occasional surprise visits.

The decision to move the headquarters to Friuli, communicated by the company to the employees, met with their categorical refusal. The proposal of incentives by the unions, with sums of 3000 euros for those over 55 and 1500 for others, was not considered sufficient.

Even more burdensome for the workers is the company offer for those who accept the transfer: 45 euros per day for a maximum of 4 months for travel expenses, a truck for the move and the payment of late fees for canceling the mortgages. “I’ve been here for almost 39 years, I started working in November of my high school year, in ’85. I did everything the company asked of me and now I’m 4 years away from retirement in canvas pants”, an employee says bitterly. The distance of 500 km, combined with family commitments and the difficulties of rebuilding a life in Friuli, weighs heavily on the workers’ decision.

The company, in an attempt to understand individual positions, began interviews with each employee. At the moment, the majority seems determined not to move. Workers are waiting to know the company’s next moves, as they prepare for new protest actions to defend their jobs and their future.
