Monza: story of Emilio Bellazzi and Gruppo Cima

He thrilled, moved and brought smiles with his stories Emilio Bellazzi, born in 1932, and plenty of determination. The founder of the CIMA Group was the protagonist of the event “The hands that built Brianza” organized by BtoB Circle on Tuesdaythe group formed by an elite of entrepreneurs and professionals to network, tell stories and share ideas.

Monza: history of Emilio Bellazzi and Gruppo Cima, the family origins and the post-war period

Spurred by the questions of Sara Re, co-founder of the Circle, Bellazzi recalled his origins. A child born in Trezzano Rosa, in a peasant context where he went around barefoot and wore clogs on Sundays. His family was the most prominent in the village. His grandfather, Emilio like him, had a bar and was always well dressed. His father was the prestinator who also served the neighboring municipalities. He had built a 5000 square meter warehouse to store grain and that structure proved to be favorable for the creation of entrepreneurial activity after the war. Among other things, during the conflict a spring factory whose premises had been bombed had already moved here.
In 1946 Emilio’s father hired two technicians and the adventure of the CIMA Group began. Emilio, in the meantime, had become a teacher and then followed a cousin to Milan to study and do some odd jobs. When he returned to Trezzano, he wasn’t too convinced about the way of working in his father’s company.

Monza: story of Emilio Bellazzi and Gruppo Cima, the turning point after a trip to Germany

«The springs were made by hand – remember – My brother Luigi and I went to Germany to see the production machinery up close. I was thrilled and ordered a good number of them. Then I said to my brother: “And now who will tell dad?”. An engineer came to our aid who convinced our father of the validity of the purchase and above all to make the payments».

The CIMA Group took flight «the competitors feared us – he continues Bellazziand they did everything they could to put us in difficulty, but then I had the satisfaction of acquiring several. If it were up to me I would make other “purchases” but my children don’t want to. Also because now I have retired and left everything to them».
