Aversa, the MAB 2024 Days at the Diocesan Museum –

The cycle of events entitled “Concordiamoci” includes seminars, educational restoration workshops and theatrical visits

Aversa, 9 May – From 13 to 19 May 2024, on the occasion of the Days for the promotion of ecclesiastical cultural heritage with the theme “XL ConCorDato: 40 years for the promotion of man and the good of the country”, the Diocesan Museum, the Archive Storico Diocesano and the ‘Paolo VI’ Library of Aversa propose the “CONCORDIAMOCI” series of events, which includes seminars, educational restoration workshops and “theatrical” visits organized by the In Octabo Association.

The 2024 MAB Days will be inaugurated by the fourth meeting of the “Seminary of Studies and Research on the Arts in the Modern Age” promoted by the Diocesan Museum of Aversa. The event entitled “The Arts in the Seventeenth Century in Campania”, scheduled for Monday 13th from 5pm at the Pinacoteca – Diocesan Museum, is a continuation of the first three meetings of the seminar started in October 2022 with the aim of creating a synergy between the academic world, the diocesan museum body and qualified local associations aimed at promoting and valorising Christian iconography through the centuries. After the study seminar there will be a guided tour of the 17th century paintings exhibited in the Diocesan Museum of Aversa.

Throughout the week – from Monday 13th to Saturday 18th May, from 9.30 to 12.30 – guided tours will take place in the Diocesan Museum and in the Paolo VI Library (1st floor, Episcopal Seminary) where an exhibition of volumes from the 16th to the 20th will be set up century of the Historical Archive and Library.

On Tuesday 14th and Saturday 18th, again from 9.30 to 12.30, an educational workshop will also be set up in the Diocesan Museum by professor Giuseppe Di Palma (Ditta Di Palma Restauri) on the works restored with the 8xMille funds to the Catholic Church.

At the end of the cycle, theatrical guided tours will take place on Saturday 18 May from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm in collaboration with the Liceo E. Mattei of Aversa and the local authorities (Municipality, ASL) at the Seminario Vescoviland, the Paolo VI Library, the Diocesan Museum, the Museum of the Wheel of Exhibits, the Church of the Annunziata of Aversa and the Cloister of the Maddalena.
