Security: bilateral cooperation Italy-Jordan | State Police

The Chief of Police Vittorio Pisani and his Jordanian counterpart, General Abdeidallah Abedrabbuh Maaitahar officially closed the proceedings of the meeting between security experts of the 2nd Italian-Jordanian technical table for police collaboration, establishing a further strengthening of cooperation through mutual training exchanges and experiences between the institutions of the two countries.

The meetings took place in Rome in an event organized by the Office for the coordination and planning of the Police Forces in which the Deputy Chief of Police in charge of the coordination and planning activities of the Police Forces Stefano Gambacurta also took part.
The Italian security specialists who spoke at the technical table discussed with their Jordanian counterparts, highlighting a common perspective of joint approach as a solution to security problems of common interest.

Police Chief Vittorio PisaniThe current topics covered included terrorism and radicalisation, cyber crimes and cyber security, organized crime with a focus on international drug trafficking and the use of new technologies in prevention and combating activities. Furthermore, it was hoped that collaboration would be consolidated, including in the training field, to achieve the common objectives of the experts from the two countries.

As part of the meetings, in-depth visits were carried out by the Jordanian delegation to some central directorates of the Department of Public Security, to the Department of Penitentiary Administration and to the general command of the Carabinieri.
During the visits to the central directorates, the Jordanian experts were able to establish a direct dialogue with the operational staff of the Scientific, Postal and Communications Police, the central anti-drug services and the Craim (Multimedia Information Analysis Centre).

Finally, the delegation’s experience concluded with a visit to the Rome police headquarters where the complex system for managing and maintaining public order and security in the capital was illustrated to them.
