The 2023 budget of AIR Campania SpA was approved at the meeting by the sole shareholder Campania Region and Anthony Acconcia was reconfirmed as sole director of the regional local public transport company for the three-year period 2024-2026. Despite the presence of endogenous and exogenous difficulties represented in particular by the high level of raw material purchase prices, AIR Campania recorded an operating profit of 838,640 euros.
“This result is the result of careful strategies and a constant commitment of all AIR Campania staff in offering efficient services” commented Acconcia on the sidelines of the meeting. Revenue from tickets recorded an increase of 40%, going from 10 million in 2022 to 14 in 2023, with a demand for mobility which on medium-long distances has recovered and, in some cases, exceeded the levels of 2019 (pre -covid), while the gap on local transport still remains to be filled, as a consequence of the changed habits of users.
“We look to the future with renewed enthusiasm, aware that we must continue to work to raise the quality standards even further. Thanks to the support of the Campania Region it was possible to rejuvenate the human capital, proceeding with the scrolling of the ranking of the previous competition and the calling of a new tender for drivers and administrators; renew the fleet, today our vehicle fleet has an average age of 9.4 years, lower than the national average; invest in digitalisation thanks to the Intelligent Collective Transport System project of Campania”, he added the Sole Director of AIR Campania. During the meeting the new board of auditors was appointed: president Francesco Tedesco, effective auditors Michela Arianna Ciminera and Ottavio Barretta. Legal auditor Tommaso Rocco.
