«In the last decade, population growth has stopped at 2%»

LADISPOLI – The construction of another four buildings in the city center continues to be discussed.
Returning to the topic after the city council meeting is Ladispoli Active.
Spotlight on the reasons given by the administration for the construction of new housing developments: namely thepopulation increase of 22.5% (almost 10 thousand inhabitants).
An untrue figure for the opposition movement, which is based on decade 2001-98 “where the demographic growth of Ladispoli was still in its growing phase (+34%)”.
On the contrary, however, if the Municipality had taken as reference the decade 2009-17 («much closer to the drafting of the plan») «it would not have been within the parameters imposed by current legislation».
In fact, in that period «the demographic growth – they explain from Ladispoli Attiva – it stopped, stopping at +2%».
The opposition also refers to the «experimental data from Istat concerning the demographic projections that in two decades (and more precisely in 2042) provide a growth of inhabitants minimum for Ladispoli (about 2%), certainly not the much vaunted 22.5%”.
In short, «the population growth of 22.5% not validated by any experimental data – they thunder – only serves “to justify new concrete and to protect the interests of certain interest groups of which the mayor is representative”».
