The public event dedicated to the “Laboratory for Agriculture 4.0” dedicated in particular to students will take place on Thursday 9 May at 10.30, in the garden of the convent of the Filippini Fathers in the heart of Acireale, in the alley of the Filippini Fathers 15. The event closes a first cycle of training meetings open to citizens and dedicated to the most interested sector categories, organized by the GAL Terre di Aci and Wes Trade and also recognized in part in terms of professional training credits by the Order of Doctors of Agronomists and Forestry Doctors of the province of Catania.
The public laboratory on day 9 will also offer a qualified opportunity to showcase good practices dedicated to the world of agriculture, which is both subject to risks and important new opportunities for innovation. Specifically, an empirical demonstration offered to the Municipality of Acireale which will allow it to benefit from the innovations in the sector offered by the IRRIGOPTIMAL® technology, an integrated system for precision agriculture based on algorithms for predicting the optimal water requirement of the soil and consequent optimization of the ‘irrigation.
On this occasion, among the flowerbeds of the convent, guests will be the students of three classes of the Mazzei Agricultural Institute of Giarre, Alessio Bucaioni, CEO of Wes Trade, Daniele Rosa, co-founder of the same company, and the institutional representatives of the Municipality of Acireale. The installation of the IRRIGOPTIMAL® integrated system for the Municipality of Acireale will constitute an example of monitoring of urban green areas and will consist of sharing a practical case on the application of Artificial Intelligence in the management of gardens and green areas, so as to offer suggestions and strategies to the public institution.
The meetings conceived by the Living Lab and linked to the theme will then resume in September with a cycle of other scheduled meetings. The GAL Terre di Aci aims to spread development and innovation in the territory and therefore reiterates its intention to strengthen the living lab as a tool capable of conveying content and information, as well as stimulating the active participation of citizens. On this occasion, he renews the invitation to businesses, schools and citizens to participate in initiatives capable of generating development and innovation.
