In Legnano the Farmer’s Market was born from the collaboration between Slow Food Legnano and the Municipality following the example of other farmers’ markets.
The initiative consists of a market of local agricultural products scheduled for every second Sunday of the month. Visitors will be able to purchase seasonal products directly from the producers who will display the many goodies produced locally. Cured meats, bread, desserts, fresh pasta, honey, cheeses, wine, rice and other food products such as oil, flours and seasonal vegetables will be available to gourmets.
Meeting opportunities
The Farmer’s Market is a great opportunity to meet producers who have decided not to be involved in large-scale distribution. They will also be able to communicate with the end user to share alternative food distribution proposals through the monthly farmers’ markets. Zero kilometer markets disseminate and encourage the exchange between consumers and producers of useful information on food education and correct lifestyles. Finally, the Farmer’s Market wants to enhance local products and safeguard the history and food culture of a community. But also the landscape and the territory to stimulate biodiversity and seasonality.
Malinverni Palace
The Ciceroni Volunteer Group of Legnano on the occasion of the “Centenary of Legnano Città” proposes a double free event. THEThe double free event will be held on Sunday 12 May, in collaboration with Slow Food, from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Volunteers will tell the story of Malinverni Palace which can also be visited inside, together with other related exhibitions. At the same time, visitors will be able to appreciate some works by the Albanian artist Helidon Xhixha, present in various points of the city center (and in front of the Castle) with his “reflected art”.
