Each land experiences conditions of pedoclimatic, environmental and landscape diversity, generating a harvest of grapes that become wines with unique aromatic and sensorial profiles, related to their origin. The twelfth edition of bookThe grapes tell the story” is awaited by the sector, and is now part of a continuously evolving project, conceived by Colomba Bianca wineries, which involves the entire wine supply chain and stimulates sharing. It nourishes and preserves the knowledge of wine.

The publication is edited by Antonio Pulizzi, Filippo Paladino, Luigi Pasotti and was created in collaboration with theregional department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Mediterranean Fisheries and the Sias – Sicilian Agrometeorological Information Service.

“The Grapes Tell” creates links between farmers, technicians and managers who work in Italian and international markets, and turns the spotlight on the factors that affect the quality of production, giving – at every level – the possibility of interpreting the critical issues and margins for improvement to go through. There reading is bilingualItalian and English – and develops an overview of the entire production panorama of Cantine Colomba Bianca with a focus on: climatic trends, vegetative-reproductive development, phytopathological situation, quantitative data and qualitative parameters of the grapes. The chapters of the book open the horizons on the grapes supplied, diversifying them by variety, oenological objective and territory of origin.

«The different editions – he explains Dino Taschettapresident of Cantine Colomba Bianca – develop an increasingly careful historical observation and guide future developments, the study of the vineyards contributes to the construction of a memory of the different vintages, it is a journey into the experience of the vineyard areas that extend from the coastal area, to the plateau, up to the hill.”

«The analysis of the most recent vintage – he states Filippo Paladino, vice-president of Cantine Colomba Bianca – delimits the land most suited to the production of red, white and sparkling wines; promotes the control of analytical data during the ripening of the grapes to plan the harvest periods and obtain the oenological objectives set by the company; optimizes the creation of a biological, sustainable and environmentally friendly phytosanitary defense, especially useful for those who produce with zero residue.”
