Contributions for existing sports facilities, boom in requests from Municipalities

There are 82 requests for economic contributions presented by the Lucanian Municipalities to the Basilicata Region’s tender called ‘Infra-Sport’ and concerning infrastructure works, expansion or improvement of existing sports facilities. The financial allocation has been greatly exceeded: compared to the 6.5 million euros allocated by the regional council, the requests for resources exceed 30 million euros, to be precise 30,868,915 euros of which 28,595,330 euros of contributions requested.

For each Municipality the maximum that can be granted is 400 thousand euros. The planned interventions concern the improvement of safety, energy efficiency, the removal of architectural barriers, the creation of new spaces to expand the offer of practicable sporting activities, the creation of equipped spaces and green areas, the purchase of furnishings or sports equipment. Extraordinary maintenance or building renovation interventions are also possible, with the modernization or expansion of existing spaces for sporting activities or for the public.
