«No desire not to collaborate to save the cat». It’s the one speaking owner of the house in Legnano where the colony cat Ariel was found and saved thanks to “a chain of solidarity”. The story, which we published yesterday, May 8, was told to us by two volunteers from the LEIDAA to thank all those who contributed to the cat’s recovery on May 4th.
In reporting what happened, the volunteers report an obstructive attitude on the part of the owners of the property, which is not inhabited, which would have allowed the rescue operations only after long mediation by the police and the municipality. «Given that when we were called by the volunteers we were out of the Region for a series of commitments – replies the owner -, our behavior has always been more than correct. On the contrary, someone has violated private property in our absence and we will evaluate whether to take legal action».
The owner, after initially denying authorization to allow people to enter her land without a prior order, also for safety reasons, gave her consent: «With what you hear I absolutely couldn’t trust strangers”. When the picture became clearer and after contacts with institutions and law enforcement agencies, the owner, who returned to Legnano, however gave her availability: «I attended a meeting in the municipality and asked for a specialized company to be sent for the clearance. After a few attempts, with the help of a drone and a special machine, the cat was spotted and recovered: «As per the documentation in our possession, the animal also injured the hand of a Zoofile Guards operator – explains the woman -. We have also made available a network for the recovery of the cat for which means and numerous staff were used. NoI can’t say I didn’t collaborate. In this case I also suffered economic damage for which I will ask for an account». Ariel was taken to a veterinary clinic where he was diagnosed with a broken femur.
