Among the lists outside the Basilicata sides, Possible with the return of Tramutoli, Smaldone and Forza del Popolo. Center: work in progress. Potenza municipal elections, Guarente and Telesca must be sent but the run-off is now certain
The center-right confirmed Mario Guarente’s candidacy after yet another meeting. Stomach aches, expressed on Facebook or kept within the walls, should all be resolved. The parties are working on the lists. The coalition should include the presence of Fratelli d’Italia, Forza Italia and Lega. It will certainly be part of the match with the centre-right “We Moderates”. Francesco Cannizzaro, after toying with the idea of leading a center coalition, has returned to the fold. It is not known whether Noi Moderati will make its own independent list or whether it will put candidates on the Forza Italia list. Mayor Guarente and the parties are working in an attempt to broaden the coalition. The stated objective, but difficult to achieve, is to win in the first round.
TELESCA CONTINUES TO WORK
Another now certain candidacy is that of Vincenzo Telesca. After receiving Lettieri’s approval, the city councilor will lead a civic coalition with at least 4 lists. In support of him, among other things, also the great noble father of Potenza politics Gaetano Fierro.
TRAMUTOLI FOR HIMSELF
Valerio Tramutoli has officially abandoned any hypothesis of affiliation. Basilicata Possibile tried to convince the center-left of the need to find a left-wing candidate as an alternative to Telesca. The name that Tramutoli put on the table is that of Angela Pignatari. The lawyer from Potenza should have been, in Basilicata Possibile’s intentions, the mayoral candidate who could have united the entire coalition. To date this unity has not existed. As far as we know, Angela Pignatari would have made her availability available only if the coalition presented itself in the elections as a unit. Unity has not been achieved and it cannot be ruled out that the lawyer may withdraw his availability. It cannot be ruled out that Tramutoli’s entire maneuver was aimed precisely at nominating himself to lead the coalition and, thus, achieve the remarkable record of being a mayoral candidate defeated twice in a row.
SMALDONE AND HIS CIVISM
The person who left for the municipal elections some time ago is Pierluigi Smaldone. In a recent video published on Facebook, the curly-haired candidate claimed his autonomy from the parties and underlined how his choice to run is an alternative to the logic of the parties. A choice of total autonomy and action in the exclusive interest of the city that claimed by Smaldone. We will see the consensus that he will be able to gather even if it is not clear exactly what his electoral base of reference might be as he does not have a proposal that clearly distinguishes itself from that of the other coalitions in the field.
THE M5S OUT OF EVERY FIELD
Unlike the regional elections in which it opted for the broad field, the M5S would have decided to run alone in the municipal elections of Potenza. The name of the mayoral candidate has not yet been revealed and the grillini will certainly have, as per tradition, a certain difficulty in compiling the lists also considering the fact that they usually do not give their best in municipal elections.
MANEUVERS IN THE CENTER?
The moderate front is also trying to move for the Potenza municipal elections. The grand coalition – after Cannizzaro’s retreat – should not be formed. The centre, therefore, it is not known with what result – it is working with the DC of Rotondi, Italia Viva and Azione in an attempt to establish what would be the sixth coalition to compete for the seat of mayor. The center-right has not yet abandoned the idea of trying to bring everyone together under the same flag as in the regional elections but to date this solution seems difficult to propose again.
STRENGTH OF THE PEOPLE
Another coalition called “Forza del Popolo” is also being born, which is nominating the lawyer Maria Grazia Marino. The lawyer, president of the “Thousand Lawyers for the Constitution” association, was the protagonist and organizer of the presentation of “invisibili” debate on the adverse reactions of the vaccine which was held on April 21st at the Due Torri theater in Potenza. The lawyer should also take the field with her. Sergio Mauro, candidate for city council. At present, therefore, there should be seven candidates in the field for the next municipal elections in Potenza, waiting to see if there will be further moves in the next few days, giving the almost mathematical certainty that the run-off will be inevitable.
