There are two initiatives which, in the territory of the Municipality of Salerno, will allow Mother’s Day to be celebrated in a unique way. The first is the result of a memorandum of understanding between the social cooperative Fili d’Etba and the ASL of Salerno and provides for a free screening, scheduled for next Thursday 9 May from 9am to 1pm at the Il Girasole social center located in Sant’eustachio neighborhood in Pastena. Interested women will be able to carry out a breast examination, a mole check and a diabetes test by booking on 331 16 58 756. It will also be possible to use the services of the I’m listening and I’ll inform you point of the Salerno ASL. If necessary during the screening, an ultrasound can also be carried out thanks to the machine made available by Humanitas. The event organized in collaboration with the Lions will therefore offer the possibility of carrying out medical visits which usually require a certain waiting time but which are important for women’s health and prevention in general. The other initiative planned for Mother’s Day was instead desired by the Municipality of Salerno which thought in particular of mothers who have experienced the terrible mourning of the loss of their child. At 6pm on Sunday 12 May, Don Flavio Manzo will celebrate a memorial mass at the ossuary of the Salerno cemetery. Afterwards, white roses will be placed on the graves of the children and a concert will take place by the clarinet choir of the Alfano Primo musical high school directed by maestro Giuseppe Genovese. The director of the Cemetery Alessandra Mazza and the city councilor Gianluca Memoli organized the event.
