Benevento – Late yesterday evening, the investigators of the Flying Squad of the Benevento Police Headquarters, during specific services organized to repress predatory crimes, arrested, for aggravated theft in competition, two men originally from Benevento aged 40 and 42, both already burdened by police prejudice. At approximately 6.00 pm the presence of two suspicious people inside a slot room located in this province was reported to the Police Headquarters operations room. Three crews from the Flying Squad, at that time on anti-robbery duty, immediately went to the scene and managed to stop the two individuals. By viewing the images recorded by the video surveillance system, it was ascertained that the couple, after entering the room, had headed towards the room where the slot machines were located, pretending to be there to play. While one of the two was standing guard, the other managed to open the coin compartment of various electronic devices with duplicate keys, taking possession of over 2000 euros which, due to weight and bulk issues, he changed into banknotes using the appropriate change machine. The personal searches also made it possible to find thirteen duplicate keys, suitable for opening the slot coin collection boxes. Having been arrested, they were subjected to house arrest at their home by decision of the public prosecutor on duty at the local prosecutor’s office. The measure carried out is a precautionary measure ordered during preliminary investigations, against which appeals are permitted, and the recipients of the same are people subjected to investigations and therefore presumed innocent until a final sentence is reached.
