Agrigento, three managers of nightlife venues sanctioned for selling alcohol to minors

Over the weekend, the police intensified checks in Agrigento’s nightlife venues, sanctioning three businesses for the illegal sale of alcohol to minors.

Two rooms located in the center of Agrigento and another in the seaside area of San Leone were caught in the act, catching the owners and managers giving alcoholic drinks to boys and girls under the permitted age.

The Volanti agents also checked the administrative documentation of the premises, checking that everyone was in possession of the necessary licenses and permits.

During the same control operations, a minor was found in possession of narcotic substances and therefore reported to the prefecture as a habitual user.

In the same area, another boy was stopped while driving an uninsured scooter, whose vehicle was immediately seized.

Furthermore, the police tracked down a convicted felon from Agrigento who had repeatedly violated the conditions of his probation. After a period of untraceability, the man was captured on Saturday evening and transferred to the Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto prison, where he will serve the alternative measure of the workhouse.

Despite repeated awareness campaigns and the threat of sanctions, the sale of alcohol to minors continues to be a problem.

The police have strengthened controls to discourage these practices and ensure that the nightlife remains a safe environment for everyone.
