There are 138 companies in the retail trade of watches, jewelery and silverware in the province of Bergamo, equal to 8.9% of the regional total. 58.7% of jewelery shops in the province of Bergamo have a single employee, 18.8% have two employees and 17.4% have 3 employees. Only 2.9% have more than 4 employees. 47.1% of the jewelery shops in the province of Bergamo are individual businesses, 26.8% joint-stock companies and 26.1% partnerships.

As for the goods on sale, gold jewelery (96.9%) and stone jewelery (97.6%) are among the types of products best sold in shops in the province of Bergamo.

Over half (52.6%) of the jewelers in the province of Bergamo have both a website and a profile on social networks, 18.1% have only a profile on social networks, 7.4% have only a website . Among those who have a website, the main use is dedicated to marketing for 60% (40% for displaying products, 20% for communicating news) and for e-commerce for 30%.

Gold (31.9%) and silver (30.3%) jewelery are the types of jewelery most purchased by consumers in the province of Bergamo. This is followed by watches costing up to 500 euros (23.6%), stone jewelery (20.8%), high-end watches (11.1%) and platinum jewelery (3.2%). Approximately half (49.5%) of those interviewed declared that when choosing the precious item purchased, they give importance to the quality/price ratio, the shape, lines and design (47.4%) and the materials with which it is created (25 .9%). This is followed by the brand (23.1%) and uniqueness and handcrafting (15.7%).
