A contemporary Eden at the SACCA Gallery in Modica

“Paradisìaca”, an exhibition curated by Giovanni Scucces, invites visitors to explore the connection between man and nature through art. From 11 May to 28 June 2024, the SACCA Gallery in Modica is transformed into a place reminiscent of an idyllic garden of paradise. The inauguration will take place on May 11th at 7pm, offering a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in an environment that symbolizes a contemporary Eden.

Seven contemporary artists — Daniela Balsamo, Antonio Bardino, Giovanni Bongiovanni, Simone Bubbico, Emilia Faro, Elisa Zadi and Davies Zambotti — present their works, each exploring different facets of the natural world. From Bubbico, who integrates natural elements with the human body, to Bardino who transports the viewer into real pictorial botanical gardens, each artist offers a unique and personal vision of nature.

Balsamo portrays scenarios in which nature reclaims its spaces, while Faro elevates spiritual symbols such as totem palms that represent the connection with the earth. Zadi expresses himself through self-portraits that explore the intimate connection with the environment, and Zambotti captures the delicacy of a dreamy and ethereal nature through his photographs.

In addition to celebrating the beauty of the natural world, “Paradisìaca” raises urgent questions about environmental conservation and the human role in preserving our planet. This exhibition is an invitation to reflect on our responsibility towards nature and how we can coexist harmoniously with our environment.
