The State Police arrested a 55-year-old man in Quartu for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing.
On the morning of Saturday 4 April, the agents of the Hawks Section of the Flying Squad carried out a surprise search inside a garage in the municipality of Quartu Sant’Elena, attributable to a man already arrested last April for detention of purposes of drug dealing.
In the room, State Police operators found several voluminous cellophane wrappers containing dried marijuana, together with 21 blocks of the same substance, already processed and vacuum-packed, for a total weight of over 12 and a half kilograms.
For days the investigators had been keeping the garage under observation, where the man had recently transported numerous personal effects, hiding among them the narcotic and an electric sieve for processing the herbaceous substance.
During the first police operation last April, approximately 650 grams of hashish were found inside the suspect’s home, of which 50 were already packaged in a block and the remainder were being processed.
In the house there was the raw substance contained in a bag and a box, consisting of marijuana in the process of processing, the processing of which was carried out with various tools including a scale, a blender, an electric sieve, identical to the one found last Saturday and a sophisticated hydraulic press.
The suspect, already subjected to the obligation to sign, was thus accompanied to the Uta prison, awaiting the validation hearing.
