GP Miami race, Norris wins his first victory, then Verstappen and Leclerc

The Miami GP race ended with Lando Norris’ first career victory ahead of Verstappen and Leclerc.

The Miami GP ends with the victory of Lando Norris ahead of Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. The British conquer his first victory in his career after a long wait made up of podiums and missed opportunities. Carlos Sainz’s Ferrari instead crosses the finish line fourth after a long duel with Piastri.

Norris wins his first victory in Miami

A surprising race in Miami, theater of overtaking, twists and duels not only on the track but also at a strategic level. However, the real news comes from Lando Norris who wins after a great performance in China his first career victory after a very long wait.

The start was characterized by a good start from Max Verstappen and a bad start from Leclerc. In turn one, however, Sergio Perez completely loses the braking point, cutting the corner and grazing his teammate and Sainz. The Spaniard was thus slowed down and lost two positions to Leclerc and Piastri. The Australian has a good pace and even manages to overtake Charles Leclerc in difficulty in the first laps.

On lap number 15 the first pit stops begin. The six in front: the two Red Bulls, the two Ferraris and the McLarens are giving life to an exciting race. Verstappen doesn’t fly away and he remains “only” 3 seconds behind Piastri who is followed by Leclerc and Sainz. Perez, on the other hand, is in difficulty with Lando Norris behind him and relishes the overtaking. 6 cars therefore in just 10 seconds they hadn’t seen each other in a long time with Red Bull’s dominance.

On lap 23 a virtual Safety Car was deployed to remove a cone hit by Max Verstappen. This though it was to the detriment of Leclerc who had a very good pace after the pit stop with the white tyre. McLaren also demonstrates great speed by showing the large package of updates they brought to this weekend. In fact, Lando Norris flies who, remaining outside, finds himself more than 11 seconds ahead of Verstappen.

Twist on lap 29 with the Safety Car being displayed after an accident between Sargeant and Magnussen. Sainz and Piastri were unlucky as they had just made the pit stop, a great opportunity for Norris who stopped under the yellow flag regime and remained in the lead.

At the restart the order is: Norris, Verstappen, Leclerc, Piastri, Sainz and Perez the top six. The British driver from McLaren tries to make a gap with Sainz and Piastri who in a duel touch each other at turn 11. In the meantime Verstappen is unable to shake off Leclerc. Then contact again between Sainz and Piastrithe worst is the Australian who suffered damage to his wing, is forced to stop and drops to the bottom of the rankings.

Max Verstappen fails to recover and loses more and more to Norris. The three-time world champion seems to have thrown in the towel. Lando Norris finally makes it and wins the Miami GP, the first in his career for him.
