The words of the journalist and referee expert, Simone Pagnini, to our microphones after the Hellas Verona-Fiorentina episode
The situation at Viola is much discussed regarding the action of Verona’s second goal, scored by Noslin. Immediately after the match, to have clearer ideas, we went to talk to the referee expert Simone Pagniniwho commented on what happened to our microphones as follows:
“If we analyze that action carefully, Lazovic’s hand touch doesn’t even change the direction of the ball, so the field evaluation remains. Why this? VAR only intervenes in the event of an obvious error. In this case this it didn’t happen, because there aren’t any images to verify the actual touch nor the change of direction of the ball in a different, but very similar way, this situation can be traced back to what happened in Genoa-Milan in this championship correct assessment is this one: there are no clear images to be able to cancel the network”.
How are all these errors still possible today?

“It’s not that simple, because if you don’t have a very precise image you can’t cancel it. There are a certain number of cameras, which increase based on the importance of the match. At VAR level, the images are those and therefore not the obvious error was found. Unfortunately there are still situations that cannot be resolved even with VAR.”
