This weekend too, as it has been for months now, was affected by the prevention services arranged by the Head of Police Police which, on the occasion of the holidays for San Ciriaco, were intensified further in order to prevent episodes of illegality that could undermine public tranquility and safety for all those citizens who crowded the streets of the capital on the occasion of the fair.
In addition to Village of legality present yesterday at the Passetto, the checks also continued in the streets of the center and, during the service, approximately 80 people of which 35 have criminal records. In particular, among these, a man, born in 1982 of Tunisian origin, legal in the national territory and burdened by several precedents, was sanctioned pursuant to the art. 726 criminal code for acts contrary to public decency because, in the crowded streets of the centre, regardless of the numerous passers-by and violating the normal rules of civil coexistence, he was caught urinating in a public place.
Furthermore and always within the scope of controls arranged by others two subjects were referred pursuant to art. 75 Presidential Decree 309/90. In particular it was an Italian man of around 65 years old and a woman of Romanian origin of around 19 years old. In the first case, the man was surprised by the police operators, together with the police personnel, while he was busy smoking a homemade cigarette, which later turned out to be packaged with a narcotic substance. Upon seeing the police, the man tried to hide the cigarette but was still identified and the hashish-type substance – approximately 0.35 grams – was seized. The woman, however, was stopped while she found herself sitting on a wall together with another young woman and, at the sight of the police, she took on a suspicious attitude. During the check on her, when the operators questioned her about the reason for her attitude, she spontaneously handed over some narcotic substance which she hid inside a pack of tobacco, referring to it as “hashish”. The woman was reported and the substance – approximately 0.90 grams – was seized.
