The yellow and blues start off strong and put Reggio under control but then recover and win 3-1

A great Calabrian derby was played at the Palacalafiore in Reggio between the local amaranths and Raffaele Lamezia.

The Lametini team, coming off 7 consecutive victories, played an excellent first set, putting Reggio in serious difficulty and finishing 25-19.

In the second set the march of the yellow and blue continues but at 16-12 the amaranth coach Polimeni plays the Schifiliti card which proves to be a winner, the Reggini recover the gap and take the lead and then win 25-23.

In the third and fourth sets Raffaele Lamezia is nervous and tired and allows the hosts to win the partials at 19 and 14.

Thus the positive streak of victories comes to an end, now heading to the last match on Saturday at Palasparti against Bisignano.

At the end of the match coach Torchia declares:”It’s a shame, we weren’t able to direct the race where we wanted and where we were taking it. We played 2 good sets, with a high level in terms of ball exchange and counterattack numbers, even better than the top of the class. But then we got too nervous and I didn’t like this very much, in fact not at all. The batting also dropped but in general we were not very reactive in getting back into the game. Unlucky in the second set where to “compensate” for a refereeing error from Marchano, a ball was not seen touched by an opponent who perhaps put us at 2-0. However, compliments must be paid to the league leaders for the playoffs, they deserved them throughout the championship and rightly so. Now head for the last race with Bisignano, then it will be time to take stock.”
