Boats, entertainment and Made in Sardinia at the nautical fair in Porto Rotondo
The proposals of the third edition of the event are varied Sardinia Nautical Fair which closes on Sunday 5 May Porto Rotondo. Walking among the docks of the Porto Rotondo Marina, you can visit and try out many of the 170 boats present and you can access the numerous exhibitors on land. THE talk thematic ones, however, give the opportunity to approach various topics such as rescue at sea, the new university training offer, tourism and the nautical industry in Sardinia. Furthermore, the public can also attend other events, such as fishing competitions, fashion shows, regattas, folklore and musical entertainment. The presence of Insula Sardinia Marketing Quality World, instead, it allows you to have food and wine experiences and learn about local artisan realities. Hospitality is also guaranteed by restaurants, bars and accommodation facilities.
Pasquale da San Pantaleo talks about electronics
Among the numerous possibilities offered by the Fair, there is that of getting in touch with agencies charter, manufacturers, accessory distributors, tour operators and service providers. Among them, he is present Pasquale Azaraowner of Eclisse Elettronautica of San Pantaleo who deals with electronics. “Our main task consists in the assembly of watermakers, generators, zip wake and stabilizers”. These are essential elements for boats. As Pasquale explains: “Desalinators, used to obtain fresh water, are used above all when the boat is at anchor, so as not to return to port. The generators, on the other hand, are fundamental for the entire functioning of the boat when it is at sea”. The other two objects are trim tabs, which serve to stabilize the boat when it is moving. That of a nautical electronics technician, therefore, is a job currently in great demand. However, there is a shortage of manpower: “The nautical sector in Olbia is expanding – concludes Pasquale – And ours is a profession that allows us to work all year round. Unfortunately, however, there is no turnover and there are serious difficulties in finding young people who want to learn it.”
The big brands
The Fair exhibits the best productions of Italian, Sardinian and international shipbuilding. The public and sea enthusiasts can get closer to the big leading Italian brands in the nautical sector, such as Azimut, Gruppo Ferretti, Sanlorenzo, Solaris. But they can also get in touch with major foreign companies, such as English Princessmanufacturer of luxury yachts and the Dutch Vanquish which, for the first time, shows two of its new models. There were many other prestigious names present. At their stations you can learn about and possibly purchase or rent a boat. Furthermore, the presence of stands including GarminSAIM, Seakeeper and many others, allows you to find the most suitable accessories for your vehicle.
