VIBO VALENTIA – A Calabria that doesn’t give up. The noble one Relay of Legality guest at the Institute of Criminology of Vibo Valentia. Approximately 150 years after the ‘Ndrangheta settled in Calabria, there are countless deaths, violence and oppression committed against citizens, businesses and institutions for money and the thirst for power. Every day the police and the judiciary they lead one fight relentlessly against the criminal power, achieving important victories but the ‘Ndrangheta, like the underworld, manages to make new converts. Until a few years ago the fight against the ‘ndrangheta was supported only by the men of the state, for a long time now the awareness has been growing that ordinary people, the women and men of our cities, especially young people, can constitute the crucial element in defeating this cancer.
And to do this we need to talk everywhere about how beautiful and rich Calabria would be without the ‘Ndrangheta. There are several associations that are fighting for this objective, one of these is “La tazzina della Legalità”, committed to bringing the Calabrian people’s desire for redemption around Italy. There Relay of Legality on May 7th at 10:00 will be a Vibo Valentia at the Institute Of Criminology at Palazzo Gagliardiwhere in front of the institutional representatives of the territory and the citizens we will discuss the historical facts but also the message of hope contained in Luciano Prestia’s book “The accountant of the ‘ndrina” published by the Li Edizioni selection of Libritalia and on the association’s book “La Tazzina della legalità” published by Giacovelli Editore from an idea by Sergio Gaglianese, with the title of the same name, where the complaints of the victims of violence but also the desire for change give the concrete sign of a Calabria that does not give up.
