It will be operational from June 15th to August 31st the flight Olbia-Dubai operated by the carrier flydubai of the Emirates group and already activated last summer on an experimental basis. The Sardinia Region will present the route at the Arabian Travel Market, the most important international fair dedicated to inbound and outbound tourism in the United Arab Emirates, scheduled from 6 to 9 May at the Dubai World Trade Center. The connection will be illustrated in a press conference by the regional councilor for Tourism, Franco Cuccureddu together with Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President Commercial Operations flydubai, and Mario Garau and Giovanna Loriga, respectively director and deputy director of Aviation and marketing at Olbia Airport.
“I am convinced that the target that we will be able to intercept on this occasion, with the activation of the new route, activated experimentally already last summer, could be particularly important for tourism on our island”, Cuccureddu anticipates. “The objective is to work as best as possible on our tourism products, which can meet the needs of the Emirati public, in terms of quality and variety”.
The relevant public, explains the councilor, is not only that of the Emirates, but also, perhaps above all, that of the numerous freelancers, many Europeans and Americans who live in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates, and who in the summer, when the temperatures are very high, they are looking for a place with a milder climate for their holidays. “In the summer period, it is obvious, our strong point is certainly the sea“, concludes Cuccureddu, “but all the other attractors contribute to completing a holiday offer which we trust will find great interest in the Emirates but it should not be remembered that Dubai airport is also one of the main air transport hubs and so this direct connection makes Sardinia potentially accessible to visitors from all over the world”.
