Baja Sardinia The high-level gastronomic offer of north-eastern Sardinia is enriched by a new culinary star: Franco Pepe. He is one of the most appreciated and awarded pizza chefs in the world and he arrives at 7Pines in Baja Sardinia. From this evening, in fact, the 5-star resort inaugurated two years ago welcomes the Spazio by Franco Pepe: pizzeria with tables overlooking the spectacular swimming pool of the luxury hotel. The menu offered to customers, both guests and external guests every evening and throughout the season, was prepared together with the Executive Chef Pasquale D’Ambrosio, from Campania as is the magician of white art who will join him in 2024. Franco Pepe, 60 years old, is the patron of “Pepe in grani”, a restaurant located in Caiazzo, a small village in the hills of Caserta, and who has collected many national and international awards during his career. For the first time the well-known pizza chef lands in Sardinia and does not hide his enthusiasm for this adventure.

«I am certainly happy to work with a good and well-prepared fellow countryman like Pasquale D’Ambrosio – underlines Franco Pepe -. And it is very stimulating to be able to start a collaboration with the 7Pines resort Sardinia, in an international and high-level context. What certainly gives me an extra boost is also the possibility of finally working in Sardinia, a magical region which preserves a very important and particular gastronomic culture in the Italian panorama.”

Thanks precisely to the possibility of comparison with D’Ambrosio and the opportunity to use the island’s raw materials, several surprises are ready, novelties studied together by the couple of chefs for all those who will consume pizzas in the resort with a menu full of novelties. Obviously the great classics that gave Franco Pepe fame throughout the world will be available. Here, for example, is the Margherita errata, with DOP Campania buffalo mozzarella, raw curly tomato purée, basil reduction and extra virgin olive oil; or the Ritrovata pizza whose ingredients are San Marzano Dop tomato puree, Piennolo del Vesuvio Dop (a type of cherry tomato), dehydrated capers, Caiazzane black olive powder, Cetara anchovy fillets, garlic oil and fried basil.

Obviously the management of the Baja Sardinia resort is focusing a lot on the new choice which will strengthen the gastronomic offer for customers which already includes the Capogiro restaurant, with a beautiful view of the sea and which offers elegant cuisine, and the Cone club, a restaurant “pieds dans l’eau” and the resort’s beach club. «For us it is a pleasure and an honor to welcome Franco Pepe – he underlines Vito Spalluto, manager and director of 7Pines –.
