Two more episodes of gender violence in Molise

ISERNIA. As part of the constant monitoring and prevention of crimes against women and vulnerable victims, the Police Commissioner of the Province of Isernia, last week, issued two warning measures adopted pursuant to art. 3 of Law 119 of 15.10.2013.

The first arose against an elderly person who was responsible for threatening his wife with a gun inside their home; the second, however, involved a forty-year-old, who engaged in aggressive, verbal and psychological behavior within the family home, to the detriment of his cohabiting mother, also damaging the home furniture. These episodes occurred in two municipalities in the Province of Isernia, in Agnone and Sesto Campano respectively.

Both warning measures were adopted in light of the seriousness of the episodes, which already constitute a crime in themselves, but which, precisely because they occurred within the home, risk resulting in even more serious and harmful conduct; for this reason the aim is to offer rapid and early protection to the victim.

If there is a repetition of the behavior underlying the warning provision and, therefore, a violation thereof, the person warned will be automatically reported to the Judicial Authority; furthermore, in case of conviction, an aggravation of the sentence is envisaged.

Since the beginning of the year, 12 warnings have already been issued and notified by the Anti-Crime Division; in most cases these prevention measures are actually decisive and suitable for interrupting the “cycle of violence”, typically experienced by victims in the domestic or in any case family/emotional context.
