Agrigento, today at the “Pasolini” center “Natalia’s room” by Monica Gentile is presented

In Agrigento today, Saturday 4 May, at the “Pasolini” cultural center, in via Atenea, the book “La Stanza di Natalia”, by Monica Gentile, will be presented at 5.30 pm. The meeting will be moderated by the president of the Centre, Maurizio Masone.

The book tells Isabella’s troubled story: at ten years old her mother suddenly abandons the family and her father, completely inadequate to deal with the situation, decides to send her on holiday to her grandparents. It is the summer of 1981, and Isabella leaves her Agrigento for the north. She doesn’t know it yet, but it’s the journey that will change her life forever. In Turin, her uncle Alfredo, with whom she has always been a little in love with her, her grandfather Pacifico and above all Antonia, her grandmother who has the special gift of inventing stories to ease the burden of a tiring existence, are waiting for her.

The author was born in Agrigento. After living for a few years between France, the United Kingdom and Rome, she returned to Sicily and today lives and works in Palermo. You made your debut in 2014 with “Tira sirocco”, in May 2019 “What can save me today” was published. She received mention in the Calvino award.
