Teramo, former magistrate Pietro Grasso talks with students at UNITE

On Monday 6 May, at 11.00, in the Aula Magna of the University of Teramo, the former magistrate Pietro Grasso will talk with university and secondary school students.
Pietro Grasso is president of the Scintille di futuro Foundation which aims «to contribute to the development of active and aware citizenship and the ethics of responsibility, to encourage the realization of constitutional values ​​and respect for the laws and rules of civil coexistence, of analyse, study and disseminate knowledge of mafia phenomena and organized crime, to stimulate interdisciplinary research and promote collaboration in the fight against organized crime”.

The meeting was organized by the School of Legality and Justice of the University of Teramo, coordinated by Fiammetta Ricci, who will introduce the event.
Greetings from the rector Dino Mastrocola and the CEO of Conad Adriatico Antonio Di Ferdinando are expected, while the discussion with the students will be moderated by Maria Cristina Alfieri, director of the Conad ETS Foundation.

Pietro Grasso, Italian magistrate and politician, in 1984 served as a side judge in the first Cosa Nostra maxi-trial and was the author of the sentence which inflicted 19 life sentences and over 2,600 years of imprisonment.
Consultant to the Anti-Mafia Commission, in 1991 he was appointed advisor to the Criminal Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Justice and member of the Central Commission for repentants.
In Palermo he was the Public Prosecutor from 1999 to 2004.
From 2005 to 2012 he was National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor.
In the 2013 elections he was elected senator and in the same year he was elected President of the Senate, a role he held until 22 March 2018.
