Foggia. Ariadne’s Thread turns 25. The social cooperative that works against violence, discrimination and trafficking, founded in 1999, will celebrate its significant anniversary next May 10thstarting at 5.30 pm, in the Santa Chiara Auditorium in Foggia.
The Silver Thread it will be an opportunity to retrace 25 years of commitment to combating gender violence, protecting women and minors, welcoming and supporting victims of oppression, abuse and mistreatment, and promoting equal opportunities.
The social cooperative Il Filo di Arianna is made up of women only. It promotes empowerment processes and has activated various anti-violence interventions and programs.
It manages the CAVs of the Territorial Areas of San Severo, Vico del Gargano and Lucera. In the area, Il Filo di Arianna operates 17 branches. Currently, it is also involved in the actions envisaged by the Zona Franca project, supported by the CON IL SUD Foundation.
That Thread is the first act with Barbara Rosaria Patetta, president of the social cooperative. The journalist will coordinate the work Antonella D’Avola.
Model of social innovation, the social cooperative Il Filo d’Arianna aims at the future with the Anti-Violence Center 4.0. She will be the director Daniela Eronia to present and launch the new platform ilfilodiariannacooperativa.it, online from 10 May. It is the dematerialisation of procedures and a new dimension of the CAV.
Arianna’s Thread, as is its style, will address the theme of the evolution of the phenomenon of gender violence with a frank and, at times, irreverent reflection.

The conversation with the journalist and full professor of Italian Literature at the University of Foggia promises to be unconventional.
“We were born when men’s violence against women had to remain a private matter, to be hidden at all costs – recalls the president Barbara Rosaria Patetta -. Even today it’s a bit like this, women who rebel risk being victims twice, because ‘they asked for it’. After years of activism, of actions to combat every form of violence, the endemic phenomenon of gender violence is experienced as a social issue, but this does not reassure us, on the contrary. The numbers are merciless. Twenty-five years of activism, of hard work in defense of women’s rights, of healing incurable wounds, are the point from which we start again. Violence transforms, evolves, uses new tools and channels, but it is also true that that subculture of oppression that offends just because women never changes. We want to talk about it, in our way, without rhetoric. May 10th – he concludes – we will do it together.”
