The suspicion is that that games room in San Giorgio del Sannio had recently become a sort of ATM. A hypothesis to be demonstrated, towards which the 13 slot keys found in the car in which they were traveling lead. They are Nazzareno T., 40 years old, and Michele VP, 42 years old, from Benevento, arrested for theft late yesterday evening by the Flying Squad.
According to a first reconstruction, the agents of the vice-chief Flavio Tranquillo went into action at the end of a stakeout, when they blocked the car used by the two men, from whom the sum of 2000 euros was seized which was apparently stolen from the machines, ‘open ‘ with the 13 keys found. The owner of the place had triggered the intervention of the police, having noticed that the daily takings had decreased for a few months. Hence the choice to take a look at the images recorded by the cameras, which would have immortalized the two suspects.
The investigators believe that the activity of ‘withdrawal’ from the slots, thanks to a copy of the keys – it remains to be understood how they came into possession of the originals – went on almost daily, causing them to ‘disappear’ from each cash register, time after time, not a very large sum of money. At the disposal of the prosecutor Maria Gabriella Di Lauro, the 40-year-old and the 42-year-old, defended by the lawyer Claudio Fusco, were placed under house arrest.
