Ithaca 2.0: Workshop by students for students!. April 23, 2024 marked the conclusion of a workshop at the Dicam engineering department in Trento, where students built three wooden pavilions to encourage the sociality of the place.
Fifteen students actively participated in the construction process, obtaining cultural and technical enrichment in the field of architectural design. The main objective was to enhance the public space within the University.
The collaboration with the carpenter Alex Faggioni, -Legno Storto-, and with the teachers of the University of Trento was fundamental to the success of the initiative.

The pavilion, erected on the Mesiano terrace, was conceived as a space for social interaction within the university environment, emphasizing the use of wood and the distinctive elements of the Trentino landscape. The event was organized by the Acropoli and UNITiN Associations with the financial support of DICAM, TAUT, the Dallapiccola Sas company and Rotohblass.

The creation of this work serves as a catalyst for a broader reflection on the implications that architectural design can have on larger systems, such as the valorisation of the Trentino urban and landscape context, the promotion of social interactions in public space and the diffusion of activities collaborative design and construction.
