Castellammare – Serious accident on the state road, several injured
Traffic at a standstill even on ordinary roads.
Serious accident this afternoon on the SS145 “Sorrento” state road. A Fiat Panda and a Renault Capture were involved. For reasons yet to be ascertained, the two cars collided head-on, causing injuries to the drivers. The 118 doctors promptly intervened on site and had many difficulties in providing the necessary care to the unfortunate people who were trapped in the cockpit. In fact, to rescue the driver of the Panda, the rescuers had to dismantle the rear door of the vehicle.
The injured were then taken to the emergency room of the San Leonardo hospital
of Castellammare di Stabia while two tow trucks cleared the roadway of the damaged vehicles. Anas staff and the police are present on site to allow circulation to be restored as quickly as possible.
Serious repercussions on traffic, with a long queue of cars forming in both directions. The repercussions on internal roads were also severe, with many motorists deciding to take ordinary roads to get around the obstacle posed by the damaged vehicles.
