The regional secretary of the category Dino Pusceddu: “The situation of public administrations is becoming more and more serious day after day in Lombardy. Citizenship rights with universal access at risk.” The meeting will be closed by the national secretary Florindo Oliverio

May 2 24 – With the slogan “For all, every day”, the FP Cgil Lombardia convenes the regional assembly of delegates of the Central Functions sector for Friday 17 May, from 10am to 2pm. The venue of the meeting is the Sala Di Vittorio of the Milan Chamber of Labour, in Corso di Porta Vittoria 43.

“If the public administrations are suffering in general from the shortage of personnel, in Lombardy, where is the high cost of living weighs more, the situation is becoming more and more complicated, both for existing workers and for citizens. THE services provided – and we are talking about tribunals and courts of tax justice, territorial school offices, INPS, Inail, Aci, labor inspectorates, to name just a few – are reduced or merged. Decentralization, functional to proximity, i.e. public services close to people, is being swallowed up by a return to centralism, which means fewer offices and travel from one city to another, with all that this also entails in terms of transport on the one hand and depopulation of the more peripheral areas – explains Dino Pusceddu, secretary of the FP Cgil Lombardia -. This is how the few personnel present find themselves having to chase themselves underneath increasingly demanding workloads. And working in these conditions is certainly not a good business card for these public administrations that through i competitions they would like to hire but the selections either go empty or the winner doesn’t stay long, looking for better shores as soon as possible. The problem is serious. In a decade, the employees of the Central Functions have decreased by 21%, equal to 5,155 workers. In the space of 6 years, it is estimated that a quarter of the active force will be depleted due to retirement aloneequal to almost 18,000 employees, that is we risk losing 4,400 workers, given the high average age. Public services will not hold up like this, and we will lose fundamental safeguards to guarantee citizenship rights with universal access. That’s why we want it raise awareness all those involved e put pressure on local administrations so that they do their part towards government policies That they definitely need to be changed”.

The assembly, after interventions by delegates and delegates of the various bodies of the sector, will be closed by that of national secretary of Fp Cgil Florindo Oliverio.
