Cannizzaro Hospital, the stabilization process continues: reaching 50

There are 50 “precarious” workers stabilized in recent months by the Cannizzaro emergency hospital in Catania, in application of national and regional provisions. The last resolution signed by the extraordinary commissioner, Dr. Salvatore Giuffrida, allowed a physiotherapist and a radiology technician to sign a permanent contract. Overall, in light of national legislation, the directives of the Department of Health and the Memorandum of Understanding with the trade union organizations of the Sicilian Region, the Cannizzaro Hospital company has “directly” stabilized 38 nurses, 4 doctors, 4 radiology, 3 physiotherapists, 1 laboratory technician.

“All these employees responded to the reconnaissance notice published by the Cannizzaro company precisely for the purpose of detecting possession of any requirements useful for stabilization. To the workers, holders of a coordinated and continuous contract activated pursuant to the legislation on the fight against Covid, who however did not have the required length of service as of March 31st, with a resolution of the same date the contract was extended until December 31st , and therefore of overcoming precarious employment, in fact, is still ongoing”, we read in the note. “The Cannizzaro company promptly took steps to stabilize the figures to whom the Protocol with the Unions assigns priority, as they belong to the healthcare role and possess the requirements established by national legislation. The procedures are also being defined by the “Human Resources office, for the stabilization of other staff who in the meantime have completed the requirements. Further measures regarding overcoming precarious employment may therefore be taken in the coming months”, concludes the note.
