Transfer of 10,008.46 euros from Valle Gesso Sport to the LILT (Italian League for the fight against tumors) of Cuneo. The operation was carried out on May 2nd and is the result of the Aloba race which was held in Entracque last April 15th. The sum will be spent on equipment for the treatment of cancer patients at the Carle hospital.

Aloba Race is the initiative conceived and created by Luca Ghiglione, Andrea Baretto and Rachele Fanesi in memory of the coach Alessandro Biarese who made a great contribution to the development of biathlon in the Gesso Valley. A man who made fertile ground for the growth of great champions, from Ghiglione to Baretto, to Pietro Dutto, Marco Barale up to the new youth Olympian in Seoul, Carlotta Gautero.

Aloba race was organized by Valle Gesso Sport in collaboration with the Alpi Marittime Ski Club, Entracque Eventi, LILT Cuneo, clubs, associations and the support of local institutions: “We designed the event – say the organizers – but without the collaboration of many subjects could not have achieved this success and continuous growth which in four editions has allowed over 20 thousand euros to be donated to LILT. We truly thank everyone who contributed to this result.”

The 2024 edition was truly record-breaking for competitors, 270, people present at the pasta party 500 and size of donations.

“We worked a lot to do this Aloba race – say the organizers – but we had a very satisfying response which brought, in the name of Biarese, many people to the area coming largely from Piedmont but also from neighboring regions. For the future we want to consolidate the event and try to develop prevention initiatives for citizens with LILT”.
