Rimini, 2 May 2024 – “We have eaten badly and it took you a long time to serve us: we won’t pay the bill.” These are the words that Gioacchino Meliof the restaurant “Bread, wine and baghino” Of via Dario Campanawas heard last night by a customer – a Russian woman in her fifties – who had just finished dinner in the company of two other women from her countrymen.
The third, according to what the restaurateur reported, tried to leave without paying.

Instead of money – 41 euros and 80 cents – Meli got it in exchange scratching, pushing and slapping and in the end he was forced to barricade themselves in the room to escape the client’s uncontrollable fury. In the end, the Carabinieri took care of restoring calm, arriving on site with a patrol, together with the 118 ambulance. Meli recounted his misadventure on Facebook. “Nothing like this has ever happened to me before,” she said, showing on video his arms bruised and bleeding. He will now consider whether to file a complaint against the woman.
“It all started around 10pm – explains the entrepreneur – in the restaurant there were these three women, two in their fifties and a twenty-year-old who I later discovered was the daughter of one of them, who had just finished eating and drinking. They had been here before, in the past. At a certain point they got up and went out into the small square. I thought they wanted to smoke a cigarette, then two of them started arguing heatedly, perhaps they were a little tipsy from the wine they drank. One of the two ladies got into the car, followed by the girl. When I realized that she was leaving they were going without paying, I went out and turned to the other lady, who had remained behind, asking to settle the bill.”
The response received left the restaurateur stunned. “The woman replied to me that she wouldn’t take out a euro because the service had been poor. I was shocked to see that they had left nothing on their plate. Seeing that they were walking away, I took out my phone and played a video, trying to record the car’s license plate number. However, this thing made the customer go into a rage.”
There voltage it skyrocketed in the blink of an eye. “She approached – continues Meli – and made me drop my smartphone. While I was picking it up, she pounced on me, tore my clothes, covered me with scratches, made my glasses fly off. I ran into the restaurant , where there was a couple of customers, scared to death.
