Yesterday, presumably during the night, a group of vandals illegally entered the buildings of the primary school Borgo Quinzio damaging classrooms, school supplies, doors, bathrooms and staining corridors with fire extinguisher foam. The manager was forced to declare the building unusable, sending all the primary and secondary school students home.

The mayor of Fara in Sabina Roberta Wedge: “This morning the children of the primary and secondary school of Borgo Quinzio were unable to resume school activities due to the incivility and rudeness of some young vandal who broke into the school during the night and damaged. As mayor it is disheartening to have to note the repeated damage to public goods. It is serious not to understand that vandalizing public goods means harming every citizen. It is even more so knowing that school structures that host our children in their daily activities have been damaged. With them Municipal offices we immediately activated the procedures for the restoration and safety of the school, the operations will also affect tomorrow, for which we are preparing the order to close the school.”

The Councilor for School Policies Tony la Tower: “What happened is serious and disconcerting. School is a sacred place of learning, growth and sharing, and acts of this kind not only damage public property, but also damage the very fabric of our community. We are already taking steps to have the damaged spaces and objects restored as soon as possible, providing maximum support to the school.”

Deputy Mayor Simone Fratini: “We absolutely condemn yesterday’s acts of vandalism. We will collaborate with the police in the hope of being able to identify whoever committed such an ignoble act. We will also undertake to implement the video surveillance system, and provide an alarm system in the buildings of the Borgo Quinzio Primary School, to ensure that anyone acting in a suspicious manner can be immediately identified, trying to avoid the repetition of similar actions”.
