The donation is a small contribution to meet the daily needs of the department Oncology directed by the head physician Maria Anania: this morning, in fact, the Provincial Section of Sumai of Crotone (the union representing specialist doctors and veterinarians operating under an agreement with the NHS throughout the national territory) donated to the department of Oncology at San Giovanni di Dio in Crotone, two multifunctional medicine trolleys, a laundry trolley, a lift chair for patients. This was possible with the collaboration ofVivere Smirrindo Association who works in the department.
The donation is a small contribution to meet the daily needs of the department and aims to strengthen the collaborative relationship between Territorial Specialists and the Hospital in the interest of patients and in particular the most fragile ones such as cancer patients.
Even if not employed but affiliated with the National Health Service, the specialists of Sumai they are an integral part of it and care about the exchange of professional opinions with hospital colleagues: «A useful donation for the department for the spirit of service – said the doctor Giuseppe Sirianni of the Sumai – placing the health of patients at the center who must feel like a hyphen of union between specialists who work in different professional environments but with the sole purpose of “their health”».
A department that needs more medical staff and has more beds: «Before talking about this fundamental waiting for the donation we must also talk about the situation of cancer patients, hoping that in the future there will be a single Oncology department, and not one merged with Nephroncology – he said Giovanni Marsala president of Living Smiling– it is not possible to have two departments located on different floors. More attention is needed».

The Hemodynamics room is a priority, highlighted the Asp Commissioner of Crotone Antonio Brambilla, answering questions posed by the press. The occasion was in fact a good one to talk about some shortcomings of the hospital structure: «Regarding Hemodynamics we must become autonomous, we have started the tender for the procedure for awarding the works – those are the two words – works that will not take very long, the goal we have set ourselves is to finish the entire procedure by the end of 2024. I am convinced that Hemodynamics is very important for the territory, because the travel times to Catanzaro are too long».
Then he concluded: «We are also working on Nuclear Medicine, although the priority now is Hemodynamics. The new emergency room should be delivered to us in mid-June».
