In particular, the applicants, an elderly Italian couple, reported having had an argument with their neighbour, also Italian, aged around 50. Once on site the police went inside the building to make contact with the parties and here they found the fifty-year-old in a state of alteration who confirmed that he had had a verbal argument with his neighbor who, according to him, had annoyed him , without however being able to specify what the elderly man had actually done. The policemen thus went to the elderly couple’s apartment and, when asked for explanations, the two reported that suddenly their neighbor had started banging violently on their front door and once opened he had verbally attacked and offended them because according to him say the couple had annoyed him and wouldn’t let him rest with loud noises.
However, the elderly man reported both to his neighbor and to the police officers who intervened that he had not carried out any action that could have annoyed the man, without being able to explain why he would have reacted aggressively. Therefore the police brought the situation back to calm, reassuring both the two elderly people and calming the man, who was told to maintain appropriate behavior.
