Healthcare is one of the main themes of the electoral program of the lawyer Giovanni Tarquini who, after the candidacy of Dr. Mattia Soliani, in his Civic List also calls Dr. Adriano Ruozzi, from Reggio Emilia, 59 years old, graduated in Nursing from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, master’s degree in Legal and Forensic Nursing, employed at the Arcispedale Santa Maria Nuova in Reggio Emilia.
“Over the years, the nursing profession has significantly implemented its skills, recognized both in the healthcare sector and by citizens, who make use of the services provided by these extremely professionalized figures with ever greater confidence – explains Dr. Ruozzi – unfortunately this evidence does not correspond adequate social recognition which effectively translates into poor remuneration (in Italy among the lowest in Europe), reduced career opportunities and exhausting work shifts.
These are the reasons why even young people are less and less attracted to take up the nursing profession, leading to a worrying drop in enrollments in university faculties which combined with a constant flight of nurses and the abandonment of the professional activity towards more rewarding and remunerative activities generates a worrying shortage of personnel, putting the entire healthcare system in crisis.”
