The municipal council, upon proposal of thedepartment of animal policies led by the councillor Cristina Consaniapproved and relaunched the Animal Bonuses introduced by the current municipal administration for veterinary expenses, which will guarantee new non-repayable contributions for needy families, to offset veterinary expenses for dogs and cats.
In fact, it is the administration’s will to continue developing awareness campaigns to support animals and in this case promote measures to support families to ensure care for their four-legged friends. The provision of financial resources upon specific request will in fact be aimed at granting a partial or total reimbursement of the expenses incurred by them for the well-being of their pets.
A measure of value for the city’s families and for animals, which is therefore also renewed for 2024, thus providing a significant contribution and incentive for the protection and well-being of four-legged friends.
The beneficiaries of the relief provided for in the line of action will be identified among families, owners of pets, who will be able to apply according to some eligibility evaluation criteria. The resources available for the non-repayable granting of financial contributions to families for the reimbursement of veterinary expenses have also been increased up to a total of 7 thousand euros.
The competent municipal offices will then prepare the public notice and the subsequent technical-administrative requirements preparatory to the disbursement of the financial contributions envisaged in the action line, found in the notices and notices section of the Municipality of Lucca. The outcome of the contribution request (both in case of recognition of the contribution and in case of non-acceptance) will then be through the publication of the list of those admitted, which can always be found on the institutional website (www.comune.lucca.it).
