Making the city increasingly attractive and welcoming, providing useful services and information to those who live there and working together with associations and institutions. This is the objective of the “Taste map” the initiative launched by the Caserta section of Confcommercio (on the proposal of Fipe Confcommercio), in collaboration with the Common of Caserta and presented yesterday in the council room of the municipal house. This is an experimental project which, at least in this first phase, involves the activities of the food and wine and hospitality sectors of the capital alone. In fact, the map includes restaurants, pizzerias, hotels And B&B present in the capital. The guide will be distributed free of charge to Palaceat the info point of Gramsci squareto the Belvedere of San Leucioto the Common and in all hotels, B&B And restaurants of the city, members of Confcommercio. The guide can also be downloaded from the “Caserta Regale” website, another initiative signed by Confcommercio.

«There is a favorable situation in Caserta – says the provincial president of Confcommercio, Lucio Mayor – which, in our opinion, must be fully exploited to give justice to this province and help it move up the rankings as it has everything it needs to be among the most appreciated places. Therefore Confcommercio does not want to limit itself to offering services to its members, but to contribute to the growth of the territory. In fact, the map, in which the most significant realities of the city in terms of hospitality and public establishments are included, represents the common thread of a series of activities that we are following to improve hospitality and increase tourist flows. Among the next initiatives is an awareness campaign to ensure that all the commercial activities in the center remain open at least on the Sundays of free entry to the museums and also the establishment of shuttles that can facilitate the movement of tourists and visitors around the city.”

An initiative, therefore, the Taste Map, which aims to pave the way for other synergistic actions, as observed by the deputy mayor and councilor for Productive Development Planning, Emiliano Casale, which underlined the effectiveness of every form of collaboration. «It’s an excellent idea – he says – because it brings together various commercial activities in synergy and networking, as well as having a widespread distribution capable of enabling those in the city to orient themselves and move towards the places and businesses of interest. An important synergy has been created with Confcommercio, as with all the entities that make up the economic, productive and cultural fabric of the city, particularly since the Tourism Roundtable was established in the Municipality, in which all the most important stakeholders in the area participate and where we are carrying out high-impact projects. The Taste Map is added to the app that we have just created and which will allow tourists to fully enjoy our city. For the first time Caserta, thanks to all its components, both institutions and private individuals, is working with a unitary strategy, with the sole interest of growing and creating development.”

The aims and genesis of the initiative were highlighted by the provincial president of Fipe Confcommercio Caserta, Giuseppe Russo. «This map – he explains – is the result of synergy and common work and brings together all the attractions of the area, monuments, sites of interest, but also the gastronomic offer which from pizza onwards in Caserta is an increasingly of attraction. It is important to communicate what is there, so we have also provided the map with a QR code with directions in Italian and English. Furthermore, things are starting to go well.” Russo then adds that «in recent years attendance in public establishments has increased by 25%. This is a significant figure that can act as a driving force for the entire industry, attract new investors and even combat hit-and-run tourism. The tour operators themselves have understood the potential of the capital and this gives us hope for the near future. Furthermore, the message we want to give to the associations and citizens is that together we can, especially if we have the good of the city as a common goal.”
