The Swiss has long been at the center of negotiations for the extension of his agreement but a point of arrival has never been found between the parties. The renewal of the French defender was also expected, but he had to deal with many physical problems that took over. No step forward not even for the goalkeeper, of whom President Cairo had spoken thus in December: “Vagnati is taking care of Gemello, but I think he can renew. Maybe there are economic differences but I think an agreement can be reached.”.
Rodriguez: the captain is out of contract
With the farewell of Rodriguez, Djidji and Gemello, a piece of Toro will go away. The Swiss is in fact the captain and his absence in the locker room will be felt. A team man, irreplaceable for Juric, he played practically all of them under the guidance of the Croatian coach. The defender owned by Salernitana played little more: 11 appearances for him, without noteworthy performances.
