Ten days at the Slalom Rocca di Novara

The appointment in the province of Messina with the 2nd round of the Italian Championship is set for May 12th. Registrations for the race organized by Top Competition are underway.

The 29th Rocca di Novara Slalom is approaching, the second round of the Tricolore and stage with the coefficient increased to 1.5, fundamental of the Sicilian Championship, the series promoted by the Aci Sport Regional Delegation, which supports the Messina competition organized by Top Competition.

After the ĺo Slalom of Loceri, which inaugurated the national event, attention is now turned to the Peloritana race, for which the already numerous registrations will continue until 12.00 on Wednesday 8 May.

In Sardinia, Salvatore Venanzio from Sorrento prevailed on Radical SR4, ahead of Totò (Salvatore) Arrestà from Trapani, winner in Novara last year who this year by virtue of the new regulations will be able to take part in the Tricolore with his Gloria single-seater. Third was the other strong and experienced Campanian Luigi Vinaccia on Osella PA9/90. The reigning champion Michele Puglisi was absent in Loceri and was involved in the Superclimb at the 66th Monte Erice on the same weekend. He will return together with other determined Sicilian drivers to Novara, for the competition which therefore promises challenges of the highest level.

The community of one of the villages in Italy, already known for its fame, and its ever-collaborative Mayor Gino Bertolami are preparing to welcome the competitors, professionals and motoring enthusiasts, while the organization refines the final details to guarantee an event that meets sporting and competitive expectations. Top Competition and the Municipal Administration in particular with the Councilors Salvatore Buemi and Giuseppe Da Campo have always worked to ensure that the event is an essential annual event to promote the beauty of this place.

After registration closes, the program will come to life with the usual sporting and technical checks which will take place on Saturday 11 May, from 2.30pm to 3.00pm, at the Novara Town Hall. In addition, in accordance with the new regulations, a mandatory briefing will be held, presented by the race directors Francesco Sanclemente and Antonio Cappelli, in the spacious parish halls of Piazza San Giorgio, a short distance from the location of the checks.

To accommodate all participants, the briefing will be divided into two sessions: one at 6:00 pm and the other at 7:30 pm.

The 2023 edition stood out for its uncertain weather conditions and intense competition. The winner was Salvatore Arresta from Mazara del Vallo, at the wheel of his single-seater Gloria. Michele Puglisi from Giarre, on Radical, current Italian champion, placed second, followed by Salvatore Venanzio, also on Radical.
