It’s a great Bper Rari Nantes Savona that wins game 1 of the championship semi-finals by beating AN Brescia 6-5. A success that represents the best reaction to the painful elimination from the Len Euro Cup, projecting Alberto Angelini’s boys into game 2 with the certainty that if things go badly in Mompiano everything will be decided in the best way once again at the “Zanelli”.

As far as the match was concerned, the half of the red and whites was overwhelming: Bruni opened the scoring. Durdic then doubled the lead, crowning a superb defense from the Savona team, capable of conceding only one goal to the guests throughout the entire half before Rizzo’s hat-trick.

Brescia’s reaction was evident with Del Basso’s goal which closed the gap at the start of the second half, but Nicosia and the home defense were able to maintain high concentration by repelling further attacks. Angelini’s team therefore confirmed its cynical attack with Bruni and Guidi and with a deluxe version of Nicosia they reached the halfway point of the match with a heavy +3 (5-2).

It was a feat by Del Basso that reignited the Brescians in the third period, a moment of the match in which, however, tempers also flared up with Angelini booked for protests after a missed foul called in favor of his team. Tension and balance were intertwined and the result did not unravel until the fourth and final half when Del Basso again, with a feat, overcame Nicosia, bringing the guests back to -1. Shortly after, Rari built a sensational four-against-two opportunity but incredibly didn’t take advantage of it, so it took a torpedo from Patchaliev (much more complicated to make) to bring it back to +2. Gianazza kept Brescia attached to the match by scoring the 6-5, a goal which for the “Zanelli” crowd seemed like the specter of a mockery which however remained just that.

At the end of the match there was jubilation in the stands of the Corso Colombo stadium for the victory with the present of Rari Daniele Polti who wanted to thank the fans, in particular the Letimbro curve who returned alongside the red and whites, for the great support for the team.
