«The work that doesn’t exist, the precarious work, the work that still too often kills: thus Sassari loses the strength and enthusiasm needed to follow new paths, start new processes, release new energy». This was stated by the mayoral candidate of Sassari del Campo Largo, Giuseppe Mascia, on the occasion of Labor Day. «Our city must imagine a new social and economic model for itself», is the challenge that Mascia launches on the eve of the electoral campaign towards the local elections of 8 and 9 June. «What it has relied on for decades has exhausted its cycle – is the analysis – and is no longer able to support employment levels and the well-being of the community».

According to the leader of the Democratic Party, unanimously indicated by his party and the coalition after a serious and complex discussion on the prospects and programs for the development of the city, «Sassari has no lack of ideas, skills and opportunities, but there has been a lack of desire to change, the courage to admit the end of an era.” But above all, it is the discontinuous message in the government of the city and of the vast area of north-west Sardinia, «there has been a lack of capacity to demand from Cagliari what Sassari is entitled to by law, starting with the resources assigned to the North-West metropolitan network Sardinia to rebalance those attributed to the metropolitan city of Capo di Sotto”.

A clear stance, for which Giuseppe Mascia chooses the anniversary of May 1st to mark two priorities that the next municipal administration will have to take charge of: development and employment, which go hand in hand. «A balanced relationship with the regional government, more substantial and active territorial coordination, the protagonism of all the proactive forces, the involvement of young people and all the categories that feel on the margins – Mascia comments on social media – these are the first steps to be taken to undertake the path towards that change that we all want to interpret together, to make Great Sassari».
